About 10 percent of our staff is made up of engineers, and our proximity to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, one of the nation’s premier engineering schools, ensures a steady flow of talent into the future.
Lynn Momrow-Zielinski
Lynn graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering. Lynn is currently enrolled at the Jack Welch Management Institute where she is working on her MBA.
She was a Development Engineer for Mobil Chemical Company, and then became Operations Manager and Global Technical Marketing Manager for GE Silicones.
Lynn was subsequently General Manager of Canton Biomedical, which was acquired by Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. She was then promoted to World Wide General Manager of the Laboratory Products Business Unit.
In 2002, Lynn co-founded Extreme Molding with Joanne Moon Duncan and remains an active managing partner in the business.
Lynn currently serves on the Center for Automation Technologies and Systems (CATS) board at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Lynn is a competitive golfer and curler. She also enjoys fitness, walking, reading and supporting the local arts. She is a fifth-generation native of Upstate NY and lives in Troy in the winter and in her summer cottage in Grafton, NY with her husband Mark and two orange cats, Divot and Hobie, and her Schnoodle Winnie.
Joanne Moon Duncan
Joanne graduated from Upsala College in New Jersey. She also pursued an MBA from Seton Hall University in New Jersey, where she was employed by L’Oreal-Lancome cosmetics as a Product Supervisor.
Joanne became a Plant Manager and, later, Director of Manufacturing for medical products manufacturer CR Bard.
After 13 years, Joanne left to become the second employee of UroMed, a medical device manufacturing startup that staged a successful IPO in 1994.
In 2000, Joanne became Worldwide General Manager of Healthcare Products for Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics.
In 2002, she co-founded Extreme Molding with Lynn Momrow-Zielinski, and remains an active Managing Partner in the business.
Joanne enjoys cooking, all forms of exercise (including golf), and lives in an 115-year-old brownstone in downtown Albany with her husband Bruce and occasional visits from her seven grandchildren.
Mike Fil
Mike graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (’10), and as captain of the 2009 RPI Football team.
Mike’s tenure with Extreme Molding began in 2009 as an intern, and he then joined full-time in 2010 as Production Manager/Design Engineer. Mike has held many different roles within the organization, including Operations Manager. At the start of 2018 – he transitioned into a Business Development and Engineering Management role.
Mike’s primary focus is to grow top line sales and bring customer’s products to market faster than the competition, while maintaining profitability. Mike’s degree in engineering and experience managing production help him assist customers in successfully taking their product from inception, through design for manufacturability, production, packaging, and introduction into the market.
Mike most enjoys being a father, participating in sports year-round, fishing, and the changing seasons of Upstate NY. Mike lives in a rural community with his wife, three children, dog, and cats.
Mike Wert
Mike is one of our process engineers. He has 4 children ages from 9-18. Mike loves sports especially the Big Ten college team Michigan Wolverines. Mike went to college in Texas at McMurry University where he played defensive end for McMurry’s football team.
Mike’s free time is spent with his wife of 12 years Melissa and his children. He also enjoys Hiking and cooking.
Ben Binyamin
Ben joined the team in 2022 as a manufacturing engineer interested in processing and continuous improvement. Ben graduated RIT (BS Packaging Engineering ’18) with hands-on experience in the material testing, CPG and food packaging industries, after which he worked for 4 years for a medical device company in Massachusetts supporting new products and sustaining initiatives to ISO and FDA standards. Beyond his main assignments for Extreme, Ben’s passion is for continuous improvement and improved value proposition to customers.
Ben is also a Red Cross certified lifeguard and spends his off hours coaching his childhood swim team. He is also an amateur wing chef and often shares with the whole team. We recommend you come in for a tour during one of Ben’s wing days and give them a try!
Stephen Wilson
Stephen has been a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer at Extreme Molding since 2022, bringing a wealth of expertise to our team. He began his career doing technical work in the entertainment industry before transitioning to manufacturing in 2020.
Prior to joining the Extreme Molding family, Stephen played an instrumental role in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives. Stephen enjoys playing music and working with local performance venues.
Catherine Almonte
Catherine is a graduate from University at Buffalo in 2022 with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering. Her senior design project consisted of designing a portable car shelter. Through this project, she learned to define design parameters of a new product and produce a cost-effective prototype that underwent testing. Catherine also has previous experience drafting technical documents at General Electric where she learned to communicate the design and technical information of various steam turbine components.
She joined Extreme Molding as the New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer. Her primary goal at Extreme Molding is to utilize her previous experience in new product designing and drafting to lead customer’s ideas into a product that can be generated through silicone molding.
In her free time, Catherine enjoys reading and traveling. Just recently, she walked across the Hudson River through the pedestrian bridge in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Leroy Robinson
Leroy Robinson is the Director of Business Development and Marketing at Extreme Molding in Menands NY, where he assists businesses and entrepreneurs bring their vision or solution to life. Leroy has a B.S. in Economics from Northeastern University and has over 20 years of sales experience.
John Flynn
John joined Extreme Molding in July 2022 as our Quality Manager. He has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Divinity and brings to the company over 30 years of quality, nuclear and operations management. As a Navy veteran, he was a nuclear qualified Machinist Mate and served on the submarine USS Trepang (SSN-674) and the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65) before becoming an instructor at the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston Spa NY.
John resides in Wilton and enjoys spending time with his wife of 33 years, Kris. John is a Professional Santa and is a member of the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas.
Dana Nugent
Dana has been a member of the Extreme Molding team since September 2014. As the Customer Service Manager, she provides excellent customer service on a daily basis to Extreme Molding’s customers while working with the packaging team to prepare accurate, on-time shipments. Dana ensures that all daily fulfillment orders, retail shipments, and large distributor orders both domestically and internationally are shipped efficiently to meet strict deadlines.
Dana is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. She enjoys various outdoor activities, watching sports, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family and friends.
Peter Gardiner
Pete graduated from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY earning his B.S. in Mathematics. He later entered a Master’s program at RIT studying Computer Science and pursued an M.B.A. at Union College.
He has over 35 years of management experience having held senior positions in Finance, Operations and General Management. Included in that tenure were an excess of 20 years at Robotics, Inc. where he oversaw the R&D and manufacturing of automation equipment targeted primarily to industries dispensing silicones & other liquid components.
When not working, Pete is an avid boater and enjoys cruising up and down the Hudson River on his 41’ Silverton Aft-cabin. He also enjoys a day on the links or a ride on his full-dress Harley. He resides in Waterford, NY with his German Sheppard “Hudson” while still making time for his four children who are spread across the country.
