Working Paw5 to Achieve Injection Molding Bliss

Having been in business for over 15 years, sometimes we think we’ve seen it all but Paw5 approached us with an exciting and novel challenge that we loved helping them to solve.

Here’s a look at how we worked with Paw5 on the Rock N’ Bowl Puzzle Feeder for dogs.

Paw5 are dedicated to making sustainable products for canine customers. Their products combine mental stimulation with environmental enrichment for perfect puppy bliss.

When Paw5 approached us, they were looking to create a game-changing dog bowl – one that was sustainable and precision made. Because the product was meant for daily use by pups, they also wanted to make sure it was durable and safe, but they weren’t sure which material to use.

Consulting with them, we were able to offer them our advice when it comes to the ideal materials for pet products, and Paw5 took on these suggestions with an open mind.

It was easy for us to partner with Paw5, and not only because we love manufacturing large volumes of silicone and plastic pet products, but also because of how well our values aligned. Paw5 are all about integrity and well-thought designs — something we embody in our facilities in Albany, N.Y. as we bring American-made products and full traceability to our customers.

After consulting with Paw5, and going through our processes, we made their Rock N’ Bowl out of a BPA-free and phthalate-free material — polypropylene. Polypropylene is a recyclable plastic that also happens to be incredibly durable. Paw5 wanted their bowls to stand the test of time (and use!). The bowls are also puzzles, intended to enrich and mentally challenge their users, so we needed to make sure they could withstand the puzzled nudging of pets the country over.

When it came to material selection, safety was another consideration that was top priority for both of us.
